Circumstances

We read in 1chron 29v29-30 as for the events of King Davids riegn from beginning to end, they are written in the records of Samuel, nathan and Gad, together with details and the circumstances that surrounded him.

It is interesting that in summing up Davids life, God made sure that his circumstances were included in the records.

Circumstances matter , they give context and explanation to facts and details.
It matters that we are told about Davids home situation, how his father underrated him and brothers despised him and it also helps to know he was only a skinny teenager when he killed goliath.

Your circumstances matter.  That doesn’t mean that they govern your life but they do have bearing on your life .
If they didn’t matter why would God commission three prophets to include Davids circumstances.

Many of us as believers have had a denial approach to circumstances, and whilst I agree that we are not victims I also think we have to be real.
Your age, status, stage of life, location, timings, things you have no control over etc,  are all the circumstances of your life, they are the circle in which you stand.

We are also affected to a greater or lesser degree by other peoples circumstances. Life is relative and cannot be fully understood or appreciated without reference to circumstances.
Life is not equal it isn’t fair, and it definitely isn’t  a level playing field when you consider all of our various and often complex circumstances.

Don’t be too harsh on people today, spare a thought for thier circumstances because what you sow you reap.
When God writes the record of your life he will include the circumstances that you had to deal with. Circumstances are like a mattress , they’re good to be on top of and suffocating to be under.

I pray you spend more time on top of the mattress in the future.

So true, we are all products of our testimonies. Circumstances are neutral in Gods eyes, our response to them is either positive or negative and that is what defines us…
